# Engineering Technician Hotel Brand: voco Location: Qatar, Doha Hotel: Doha West Bay Suites (DOHVO), P.O.Box 5863, Al Intisar Street Job number: 147954 Your day to day Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems; and ensure maintenance of: Guest Rooms and Public Areas - plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing hardware, plumbing, and electrical equipment including lamps, air conditioners, and cosmetic items. Tools – clean, lubricate, protect, and maintain all tools and equipment. Return tools to the shopand secure in proper storage. Maintain the tool pouch and tools responsibly. Fire Alarm/Life Safety System - monitor systems, be informed of operation, and handle emergencies involving these systems. Energy Conservation - analyze energy and utilities usage, seek conservation methods, and report ideas to the engineering department. Emergencies – be available for emergencies, act to protect guests and staff, and restore normal operations swiftly. Communicate any emergencies promptly. Accident Prevention and Safety - adhere to safety procedures, create a safe work environment, and correct hazardous conditions immediately. Records - log and interpret readings from meters and gauges, maintain activity logs, and pass information to other shifts. Take electric, water, LPG, and swimming pool readings as scheduled. Attend to maintenance requests and carry out preventive maintenance as per schedule. Follow proper shift handover procedures. Maintain hotel facilities and equipment safely and efficiently. Refer to Standard Operating Procedures for guidance. What we need from you PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICSEducation High School graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate. Experience At least 2 years in a similar role. Technical/Skills Operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems. Read test equipment, measuring devices, and safety manuals. Understand blueprints, schematics, and technical breakdowns. Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written. Knowledge of emergency procedures including fire, medical, bomb threats, water leaks, gas leaks, electrical failures, and elevator emergencies.
