Job Summary A skilled System Engineer / Administrator is required to manage, maintain, and secure enterprise-grade server and operating system environments. This role includes second and third-level technical support, proactive systems monitoring, user and security administration, and implementation of best practices across on-premises and cloud environments. The successful candidate will also be involved in project work, system upgrades, scripting, and capacity planning to ensure optimal service delivery and business continuity. Key Responsibilities System & Server Administration: Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for server, OS, and infrastructure-related issues. Manage and maintain physical and virtual server environments, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and associated hardware. Monitor and troubleshoot issues related to network devices (e.g., switches, WAPs), storage (CIFS shares), and system services. Administer Active Directory, including user accounts, group policies, and permissions. Microsoft 365 & Cloud Services Provide support for Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Share Point, Teams, and One Drive. Perform Azure administration tasks such as user management, role-based access, and service configurations. Support SMTP gateway servers, email security appliances, and capacity planning for email infrastructure. Security & Compliance Conduct system and security audits regularly. Administer security policies and manage security-related activities. Identify and respond proactively to security vulnerabilities or violations. Ensure compliance with internal and external standards. Monitoring, Maintenance & Troubleshooting Monitor system logs and performance metrics to identify issues. Perform patches, upgrades, and maintenance following change management procedures. Develop and document system maintenance and security procedures. Automation & Scripting Develop scripts to automate routine tasks, improving operational efficiency. Use scripting languages like Power Shell or Bash for system administration tasks. Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing. Support activities related to business resumption and emergency operations. Operational Excellence & Process Improvement Manage releases and configurations. Recommend service improvements and evaluate new technologies. Test and validate new hardware and software. Document system architecture, procedures, and incident resolutions. Vendor & License Management Maintain vendor relationships and support agreements. Track software licenses, renewals, and compliance. Required Skills & Qualifications Extensive experience with Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365. Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and patch management skills. Hands-on Azure administration and Exchange Online experience. Scripting expertise in Power Shell and Bash for automation. Knowledge of security protocols, incident response, and compliance standards. Understanding of networking fundamentals and enterprise hardware. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field. Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Microsoft 365 Certified, Security+ and other relevant platform certifications.#J-18808-Ljbffr
