Python and Kubernetes Software Engineer - Data, Workflows, AI/ML & Analytics Join us as a Python and Kubernetes Software Engineer - Data, Workflows, AI/ML & Analyticsat Canonical . About the Role Canonical, a leader in open source software and the provider of Ubuntu, is seeking specialists focused on Data, Workflows, AI/ML, and Analytics solutions. You will work on end-to-end data analytics and MLOps solutions utilizing open-source tools such as Kubeflow, MLFlow, DVC, and Feast, among others. Your work may involve ETL, data governance, visualization, workflow orchestration, and data warehousing, across cloud, on-premises, and local environments. Responsibilities Develop understanding of the Linux stack from kernel to application layer Design, build, and maintain solutions across cloud and local environments Master distributed systems concepts like observability and tracing Work with Kubernetes and open source applications for machine learning and data processing Collaborate with a distributed team of engineers, designers, and product managers Debug issues and engage with upstream and Ubuntu communities Contribute ideas and collaborate on solutions Candidate Requirements Experience with Python in professional or academic settings Strong academic record from high school and university Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience Effective communication skills in English Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred) Interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability Willingness to travel twice a year for up to two weeks Desired Skills Experience building automated machine learning solutions and data pipelines Knowledge of machine learning libraries and tools Experience with container technologies and public clouds Familiarity with cloud computing and open source projects What We Offer Distributed work environment with biannual in-person team sprints Annual learning and development budget of USD 2,000 Performance reviews and recognition rewards Comprehensive leave policies and family benefits Opportunities for travel and professional growth About Canonical Canonical is a pioneering open source company, the publisher of Ubuntu, and a leader in AI, Io T, and cloud platforms.
