Our client, UK's leading awarding body for compliance is seeking to hire a certified Quality Assurance Manager.


The Qualification & Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all qualifications are fit for purpose, and meet the needs of learners, customers & regulators. At the same time, they will ensure that the integrity and standard of all the firm's qualifications are maintained through well-managed quality assurance systems & procedures.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities


  • Coordinating with the relevant departments in the UK to project manage the development of qualifications and related material(s). Ensuring that these developments comply with regulatory requirements, international quality standards and local legislation where applicable. To agreed deadlines and within budget.
  • Review and maintain existing qualifications & products
  • Identify, manage and work with specialist consultants and subject matter experts to ensure product and qualification development related tasks are completed to agreed deadlines and within budget.
  • Managing the process for accredited and endorsed programmes. To review, feedback and sign off applications, working alongside Centre Managers. To complete reviews and audits as and when required.
  • Managing the process for translated papers and training materials.
  • To be the main contact between the organisation and government institutions with regards to frameworks and regulatory requirements. In addition, to carry out relevant research into the set-up of other territories to check viability of entering into the market and adjusting our strategy where applicable.
  • Work with Business Development Managers to develop, review and present 'business cases' to the appropriate forum in preparation for sign off.
  • Liaise with colleagues to ensure they are kept informed of progress with new developments and to identify, record and follow up interest in new product developments.
  • Ensure that appropriate systems and procedures are in place with relation to the quality assurance measures needed to satisfy regulatory requirements. This would apply to the delivery of both regulated and international qualifications.
  • Working with the Centre Support team in the UK to ensure that international variants of policies and procedures are updated and in line with regulatory requirements, and subsequently communicated to the team.
  • Managing feedback issued to Centres following visits reports and providing continual support and guidance. This will also include liaising with the Centres/EQS's via email and telephone about their availability for visits/requesting portfolios for sampling.
  • Managing the process for incoming and outgoing portfolios to ensure security is maintained.
  • Overseeing the booking in Centre Visits/ Remote Sampling onto the EQS calendar or booking in portfolios and sending portfolios back to Centres.
  • Understanding the firm's Core Manual, plus other internal procedures, in relation to Centre maladministration/malpractice.
  • Ensuring systems are in place for the efficient logging and tracking of investigation cases and visits.
  • Supporting QA Team, Centre Managers and other relevant staff with queries relating to returned courses with suspected maladministration/malpractice and non-conformances.
  • Investigating cases of potential malpractice/maladministration, including making recommendations for investigation actions and outcomes to Centre Support Manager.
  • Conducting telephone interviews with Learners, Centre staff/tutors and collating responses in relation to investigations and following these up in writing where necessary.
  • Understanding and implementing the firm's policies and processes, including those relating to suspension, termination and reinstatement of Centres and/or Nominated Tutors.
  • Conducting visits to Centres and courses as required.
  • Data reporting for regulators or to satisfy regulatory requirements.
  • Data reporting on investigations and sanctions.
  • Data reporting on visits and monitoring.

Qualifications and Skills


  • Extensive knowledge and experience of the Awarding Organisation/education sector
  • Excellent time, people and resource management/organisational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal manner
  • Demonstrable ability to work from own initiative and as part of a wider team
