Our Client is searching for experienced 7.5 Tonne drivers to join their exciting new distribution centre. You will be strengthening an existing Distribution Team.
Having pride in your work and a focus on customer service is essential for this role. The company strives to provide the best possible service for their customers from Depot to Door.
The Job
Daily duties will involve driving a 7.5tn Vehicle around the North West and surrounding areas. Typically as far north as Carlisle down to Stafford. Good physical fitness will be required as the furniture is solid hard wood although you will always have a drivers mate with you to assist.
- Working as part of a 2 man crew you will be delivering furniture direct from the Depot to the Customer's home.
- Full training will be given, but previous manual handling experience is an advantage.
- The furniture items that you will deliver are often pre-assembled so they will be large in size and very heavy.
- Start times are usually around 0600 and the working day will be job and finish.
Shift Pattern
In peak months you will work a minimum of a 40 hour week, Monday to Friday. During the non peak months you will work a 40 hour week 4 days out of 5 between Monday and Friday - you won't be required to work weekends, although overtime shifts are always available.
Pay Rates
The client offers excellent rates of pay:
At Least 40 hours per week
29 days holiday (1 day is for your birthday!)
£9 per hour, rising to £9.60 ph after 12 weeks.
