Job Description:
• Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes within your specialty.
• Managing and training any demi-chef parties or commis working with you.
• Helping the sous chef and head chef to develop new dishes and menus.
• Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins.
• Coordinates daily tasks with the Sous Chef & Head Chef.
• Able to estimate the daily production needs and checking the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
• Full knowledge of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production and presentation standards.
• Operate and maintain all department equipment and reporting of malfunctions.
• Reports back to Line Manager with all required data.
• Submits all required reports and paper works to Line Manager.
Job Requirements:
• A high standard of spoken and written English.
• Flexible working hours subject to the demands of the business.
• Excellent use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and processes.
• Able to work under pressure.
• Requires a high degree of expertise and culinary skill in the chef's area of specialty, as well as the other areas of the kitchen.
• At least 3 years' experience cooking in a well-established restaurant or full-service hotel and / or minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role
