Common tasks for VELC teachers are to teach children as allocated according to their age and ability and to enable their effective learning and achievement, according to their potential all in line with the mission and values of the ELC. Responsibilities include the following but not all inclusive:
Implements instructional activities that contribute to a climate where children are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
Assists in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for ;
Marks work, gives appropriate feedback and maintains effective and efficient record keeping ;
Provides a positive environment in which children are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning ;
Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with principal and parents on a regular basis; works cooperatively with parents to strengthen the educational program for their ;
Attends all training sessions run by the ELC.
Keeps accurate and up-to-date records of children's' reports and academic progress in planner provided by the nursery and makes it available for checking at all times.
Respects the confidentiality of records and information regarding children, parents and teachers in accordance with accepted professional ethics and ELC ;
Attends and prepares for scheduled Parent Consultation meetings.
Ensures the best use of resources and ensures the minimum wastage.
Offers and participates in extracurricular activities in accordance with contractual obligations; provides required extra-curricular activity per ;
Provides progress, interim and term reports as required.
Plans and prescribes purposeful assignments for children who are considered "gifted and talented".
Recognizes learning problems and makes referrals as appropriate.
Demonstrates a strong grasp of IPC program.
Collaborates with peers to enhance the instructional environment; attends all scheduled staff meetings with colleagues.
Covers for absent colleagues in accordance with the conditions of the contract of ;
Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with children, parents, peers, and ;

Qualification:
1. Nursery Section: Teachers should have nursing diploma or early childhood education (or any equivalent degree) according to age;
2. KG Section: Teachers should have bachelor's degree or early childhood education (or any equivalent degree)
3. Experience in a similar job position;
4. Teachers should be able to get approval from KHDA to have their final contract.
