JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for ensuring that the Health, Safety & Environmental Policy meets the local legal requirements, and is strictly enforced and monitored.



 



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES



HS & E Policy & Procedures





  • Implement HS & E Policy and related procedures / work instructions and provide suggestions and/or revisions




Health, Safety & Environment – Training





  • Co-ordinate with HR department to ensure that the effective trainings are being conducted for the crane operators and forklift operators


  • Conduct safety induction training & tool box training




Health, Safety & Environment – Equipments





  • Maintain a location plan for all fire fighting equipments


  • Ensure equipments are available as per the plant requirements and checked by specialized sub contractors periodically


  • Refill the First Aid Boxes as required


  • Monitor the calibration of the equipments used for regular inspections as per the international standards


  • Check that the calibration certificates are available




HSE





  • Comply with relevant safety, quality and environmental control procedures and instructions


  • Use personal protective equipment and safety gear when performing assigned tasks


  • Keep operational areas clean and well organized to prevent incidents and accidents


  • Maintain assigned tools, equipment and machinery in good working order


  • Report unsafe acts, incidents or safety violations


  • Develop a safety culture by ensuring all staff comply with HSE policies and procedures


  • Participate in QHSE audits, incident reporting and review of QHSE performances as required


  • Report unsafe acts, incidents or safety violations




Waste Management





  • Prepare waste reduction plans in co-ordination with different department heads and 3rd party experts


  • Monitor the proper segregation, collection, recycling and disposal of the wastes based on the local authorities guidelines


  • Prepare HSE reports and submit to the concerned regulatory.




Ambient quality monitoring





  • Co-ordinate with independent 3rd party agencies and carry out the independent testing for the ambient air quality, noise level, dust level and drinking water quality as per the local authority requirements




SPAN OF Communication



Internal: Managers, Head of Departments, Supervisors



External: Local authority, Fire Brigade, Municipality, Third Party Safety advisors and trainers, Accreditation bodies, Materials Suppliers / vendors.



 



Job relevant information (BOUNDARIES & DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY)



Enforce the company’s HS & E regulations and issue NCR’s in case of non-compliance and ask for appropriate and timely corrective actions.
