We are seeking a self-starter with existing contacts to run our sales. We understand that this is a small market so applications will only be seen by the CEO in order to maintain your confidentiality. We are a football related publisher with a growing community and a need to quickly monetize.


Role responsibilities:

  • Responsible for working with major advertising agencies and direct with brand marketers to create customized ad campaigns that help them achieve their marketing ;
  • Managing our sales pipeline and ensuring we reach our  set sales target. The head of sales will be working closely with the CEO in setting our yearly sales gross-revenue.  
  • Establishes sales objectives by forecasting and developing the annual sales quotas into regions, clients and products 
  •  Maintains Ad inventory, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors  
  • Deliver on the KPIs and have to ability to raise any red flags when a target is missed while suggestions solutions to rectify the situation 
  • Guide and educate the product and technology team to build solutions that are fit for advertisings (new ad format, new partnership ) 
  • Guide the operations team and the CEO to better forecast the inventory need across the regions and product 
  • Spearhead the drive behind technology and innovation to make sure we are always on the edge of innovation. Work closely with the head of Operations to make it a reality 
  • Keep a close view on the work of the local competitors and global leaders in the field to make sure we do not lose sight on the new innovation 
  • Forge partnerships and barter deals with both partners and clients to make sure we are maximizing our potential 
  • Being in a startup and as part of a small team, the head of sales is required to lead on all aspects of the sales business:  -Forecasting administration: quarterly reviews, annual reports, forecasting, analysis - Financial management:  Provide recommendations on managing cash-flow and budget. Provide recommendation on the effective use of the company resources. Monthly-reporting to the board on the sales situation. Responsible for collections from the clients. Ensure setup of bookkeeping systems. -Sales: Work with board on getting clients on board and managing the relationship with both the clients and agencies. -Partnerships: works with brands to develop long lasting and rewarding partnerships.

Role requirements:

  • Translate vision into execution: We are moving fast, and to do so we need to maintain a healthy top-line revenue. It's key that the head of sales to be able to translate such opportunities with the help of the CEP 
  • Manage people: While the head of sales is leading on the sales, he's working closely with the rest of the team - operations, developers, designers and analysts. A great sales lead has to be comfortable managing people (and all the challenges that come with it.) 
  • Metrics-oriented: We are completely user-focused and we do not rely on gut, the same holds true when it comes to tracking metrics about product and sales performance. The head of sales should flesh out every plan and mitigate every risk to put us on a successful path 
  • Business-driven: The head of sales need to be involved in business-related decisions around the company revenue. A good example is pricing. How should you price your CPM, your sponsorships? Product Managers need to be involved in these discussions and decision-making processes because he's the one that is most familiar with the product and opportunities for applying business models, marketing tactics, ;
  • Tech-savvy: Being tech-savy is a must to understand the possibilities and limitations of technology. He has to be able to involve himself in technical discussions to sell our potential

  • Ability to work successfully with teams, handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines under pressure
