**General** - Arrive to work promptly and demonstrate good time management skills. - Present oneself in a polished, professional demeanor at all times wearing the uniform provided. - Behave respectfully and sensitively to cultural and religious norms and values at all times. - Work with a diverse range of clients who all have different needs. - Be flexible to work either within the center or a mainstream classroom environment. - Have a positive attitude. - Accept and utilize feedback from colleagues and Head of Department. - Serve as a substitute when staff are absent. - Attend and participate in required meetings. - Arrive to work promptly and demonstrate good time management skills. - Present oneself in a polished, professional demeanor at all times wearing the uniform provided. - Behave respectfully and sensitively to cultural and religious norms and values at all times. - Work with a diverse range of clients who all have different needs. - Be flexible to work either within the center or a mainstream classroom environment. - Have a positive attitude. - Accept and utilize feedback from colleagues and Head of Department. - Serve as a substitute when staff are absent. - Attend and participate in required meetings. **To follow set center protocols, including**: - **Health and Safety**: to have responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of self and others and to Implement all safety and emergency procedures as instructed by MI. - Document, follow-up and inform your Head of Department on all safety issues. - Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. - **Equal Opportunities**: to comply with the center's policies on equal opportunities - **Confidentiality**: to ensure confidentiality at all times, only releasing confidential information obtained during the course of employment to those acting in an official capacity. - **Conflict of Interest**: to comply with the organisations code/policy relating to business conduct. **Main Responsibilities** - Follow and carry out the weekly plan as assigned by the Special Educator. - Support the Special Educator in collecting data and ensuring the EIP Child Bio is kept up to date for each child. - Prepare the visual schedule each morning before the children arrive in the room. - Carry out all toilet training programs required within the class. - Prepare for and carry out daily routines within the classroom as assigned by the Special Educator. - Create and prepare appropriate resources required for the weekly plan and IEP goals. - Ensure the room is clean and all resources are returned at the end of the day. - To ensure all resources and activities are set up in preparation for the next morning. - Implement effective support strategies for individual’s behaviors in coordination with the Special Educator. - Effectively manage group behaviors in coordination with the Special Educator. - To work with others to improve the effectiveness of service delivery. - To attend staff and in-service meetings. - To maintain professional knowledge by attending in house workshops and training. **Key Competencies** - Knowledge of the relevant developmental milestones for children 0-6 years. - Ability to develop and maintain effective communication and working relationships with colleagues, clients and their families. - Organizational and planning skills. - Creative thinking. - Adaptability to new people, procedures, and situations. - Patience, tolerance and courtesy. - Ability to handle stress. **Requirements**: - Must have a college degree in education - Degree in special needs special education is preferred - Must have valid RP for any Work Permit/Transfer of Sponsorship - NOC required
