**Department**: NUQ Business & Finance **Salary/Grade**: EXS/8 The Business and Risk Analyst will perform risk and business analysis functions for Northwestern Qatar. The analyst will work to understand, assess and address strategic, operational and regulatory risks, recommending measures to mitigate them and assist with their implementation. The analyst coordinates insurance and assists with compliance initiatives. The analyst will work closely with internal personnel and external educational and industry experts, as well as expert consultants. - _Note: Not all aspects of the job are covered by this job description._ **Responsibilities**: - Risk management liaison with Northwestern’s Evanston campus. - Risk management policy and procedures review and implementation i.e. business continuity, risk register. - Insurance Management. - Change Management tracking. - Nurture relationships with industry experts, stakeholders and vendors, enabling NU-Q to respond adequately to risk. - Coordinate student travel policy and procedure reviews. - Facilitating or conducting training for NU-Q personnel in risk management. **Minimum Qualifications**: - Bachelor’s degree in business, risk management, or equivalent combination of training & experience. - 4 years’ experience working in risk management, compliance risk assessment, audit or similar fields within the education sector. **Minimum Competencies**: - Ability to establish and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with a variety of internal and external personnel. - Strong analytical and organizational skills. - Ability to multi-task and demonstrate attention to detail within a dynamic environment.. - Ability to work independently, assess situations quickly, be proactive about identifying and implementing solutions to problems. - Strong oral/written communication and organizational skills. - Ability to use sound, independent judgment especially as it relates to workload management and efficiency. - Ability to drive continuous improvement. **Preferred Qualifications**: - Master’s degree in business, risk management, or equivalent combination of training & experience **Preferred Competencies**: - Strong communication and time management skills to handle multiple requests and deadlines effectively. - Adept at working collaboratively and cross-functionally. Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions. - Results-driven initiative, critical-thinking skills, and continuous eye for improvement.. - Strong quantitative and qualitative skills with advanced proficiency in systems management.
