Description
2. Ensuring that all users are trained in accordance to the facility requirement. 3. Certifying that all projects conducted in the facility hold the proper ethical approval prior to commencing. 4. Providing supervision and support to the Zebrafish Laboratory Technologists. 5. Interacting and consulting with facility users to ensure research goals are being met by the most humane and ethical methods in accordance with approved protocols. 6. Generating protocol and standard operating procedures based on international guidelines for the activities in the facility. Ensuring all the documents are up to date 7. Establishing recording systems for monitoring the activities in the facility 8. Ensuring routine equipment maintenance and animal health checks are properly conducted and recorded. 9. Ensuring proper emergency plans are created and followed 10. Supervising and participating in research activities in the facility 11. Collaborating with researchers and labs technicians in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of research projects; 12. Producing high quality research papers. 13. Assisting with providing practical training during workshops related to the scientific / research field; 14. Liaise with equipment suppliers regarding procured equipment technical specifications; 15. Maintaining confidentiality of information at all times; 16. Ensuring that all projects are approved by ethical committees. 17. Publishing research articles related to his field. 18. Help in organizing workshops related to his field. **Qualifications**: - Doctoral degree in the Biomedical Sciences or related fields - Knowledge and experience about Zebrafish husbandry systems and on handling zebrafish embryo/adult English Language verbal and written communication skills - At least 3 years of prior Zebrafish Facility Manager experience - Knowledge and experience about Zebrafish husbandry systems and on handling zebrafish embryo/adult - Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. - Knowledge and experience of common zebrafish techniques and assays, such as genetic techniques, microscopic imaging, motility systems, disease models - Track-record of publications and funding. - Student supervision experience - Workshop and training session organization experience Required Documents **Academic**: - Current Curriculum Vitae with Cover letter. - Teaching,research, and service philosophy. - Copy of highest earned credential (transcript of highest degree if graduated from an institution where course work was completed.However, if no course work was completed,an copy of certificate letter from the registrar of your highest credential granting institution regarding your highest academic degree). **Benefits**: **Academic**: - A three-year renewable contract. - Salary is commensurate with experience. - Tax-free salary. - Furnished accommodation in accordance with QU HR policies. - Annual air tickets for faculty member and dependents in accordance with QU HR policies. - Private health care and health insurance in accordance with QU HR policies. - Annual leave in accordance with QU HR policies. - End-of-contract indemnity.
