The Head of Social & Content oversees all digital & social content initiatives, across multiple owned platforms and formats to drive engagement, leads, retention and positive customer perception ultimately driving visitation to Qatar. This individual is an expert in all things related to social & content channel optimization, segmentation and localization, analytics and meaningful measurement. The Head of Social & Content is the direct supervisor of Editorial, Content Publishing, Brand, Asset Management and Design. **This is a secondment role for 3-6 months** **Responsibilities**: - Ensures that the narrative and storytelling are in support of the business strategy delivering against business objectives - Mapping out a content strategy that supports and extends marketing initiatives, both short - and long-term, determining which methods work for the brand and why. Continuous evolvement of strategy is a must - Implementation of an A/B testing methodology to maximise engagement and conversion - Ownership and management of all owned social channels, both B2B and B2C - Ensuring all content is on-brand, consistent, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience for all digital channels including but not exclusively social, website, e CRM and app - Lead the development of first-class content by the content department along with other production means to ensure optimal delivery of content to target audiences across multiple channels - Ensuring consistent global experience and implementing appropriate localization/translation strategies. - Supervising writers, editors, and content publishers; be an arbiter of best practices in grammar, messaging, writing, and style. - The development of a content calendar in consideration of specific persona groups and demand maps for social - Integration of content activities within traditional marketing campaigns - Gathering data and handling analytics and deriving actionable insights and recommendations, identifying high-performance content - Working with owners of particular content to revise and measure particular content and marketing goals - Developing standards, systems and best practices (both human and technological) for content creation, distribution, translation, maintenance, content retrieval and content repurposing - Leveraging market data to develop content themes/topics and execute a plan to develop the assets that support a point of view and educate customers that lead to critical behavioural metrics. - Conducting periodic competitive audits. - Provide overall direction and leadership to the Content & Social Department - Create and maintain efficient organizational structures and optimal resource management - Manage staff, performance and other HR aspects within the Department; take decisions/provide guidance to managers on complex managerial situations, including calibration and harmonization of career and reporting - Harmonize working practices and workflows within the function; addressing issues with impact beyond our own area - Advise the VP of Digital, Head of Marketing & COO on matters relating to content creation & social media - Promote a safe, secure, healthy working place and foster a motivating environment Qualifications: - Bachelor’s level degree preferred, or, in exceptional cases, equivalent professional experience - 10 years of experience in the area of social and content, with strong managerial experience - Highly creative, with a passion for content creation & social - Experience producing content for multiple distribution channels - Knowledge of tourism content best practices, and knowledge of Qatar’s tourism industry is preferable - Strong English verbal and written communication skills - Demonstrated capacity to motivate, manage and mentor teams of diverse creative individuals - High political awareness and proven ability to manage relationships with multiple and varied groups of senior stakeholders - Adaptability, flexibility and demonstrated ability to manage multiple and competing deadlines - Ability to work collaboratively with members of an organization
