Description
**The Medical Director (MDR) manages the administrative, as well as the clinical regulation across the spectrum of medical specialities of Zadie Clinic (ZC). He/she promotes the optimal quality of clinical services of the health facility and provides strategic direction in fulfilling the Vision-Mission and Objectives of Zadie Clinic. He/she has the overall accountability for setting excellent standards in patient-care, while ensuring world class standard of compliance related to medical facility operations. The MDR must set objectives, reinforce high parameters, monitor performance and liaise with the higher management in resolving complex, clinical, medico-legal, ethical and operational challenges within the ZC.** **Responsibilities**: 1. Leading the development, execution and communication of Zadie Clinic’s Vision-Mission and Objectives/Values. 2. Sets goals for each department giving emphasis on both the quality of service, and cost-effective methods of treatments; Leads ZC’s interdisciplinary approach in effectively elevating the quality of patient-care and patient-management while optimising the staff's effectivity. 3. Routinely performs case management review with the concerned physicians to make sure that the patients get the best quality of care. 4. Profession-specific leadership for Zadie Clinic medical workforce, including the overseeing of clinical standards, the introduction of contemporary models of care, complaint review, performance management, credentialing, performance appraisal, mandatory training, review and implements policy/procedure/guidelines/SOP and medical workforce recruitment, engagement and compliance as per the Ministry of Public Health’s (MOPH) protocol. 5. Develops quality and safety protocols including risk-management initiatives that are critical in the current standard of practice and are not obsolete; Complies with the State of Qatar’s regulatory requirements for medical care; Keeps abreast on the current regulatory policies from the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) and clearly communicates the new policies to the concerned departments within ZC. 6. Works with the management (i.e., the General Manager (GM) and Human Resources Director (HRD)) to develop the over-all strategic direction per medical discipline to meet established goals and objectives. 7. Drives the entire medical workforce in achieving the set goals and targets as established by him/her and the management (GM and HRD). 8. Identifies and builds new programs to address demand-driven trainings for healthcare employees. 9. Responsible for operational management to ensure zero deficit on monthly performance. 10. Operational Management: - Oversee resolution of clinical and operational problems at the clinic’s level. - Monitor operational performance metrics at the interdisciplinary program level. - Oversee identification and sharing of operational best practices to the staff. - Work with the management to secure approval for operational performance. - Oversee approval of the procurement of medical equipment, if any 11. Works with the Human Resources Department to manage customized training requests; and implements effective evaluation methods and corrective action measures as necessary. 12. Leads and initiates the review of the policies and procedures to make sure that they are up to the current standard of practice, assuring that the rights of every patient and all staff members are covered and respected. 13. Demonstrate skills to practice emergency medicine, perform minor surgery, and wound care; Skills to provide consultation to health care providers; Skills to serve a large volume of patients rapidly and effectively by appointment or on a walk-in basis within set time limits; Skills to record in an orderly and logical manner the history, exam, assessment, treatment plan, patient education, and other information related to patient care in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system; Ability to maintain confidentiality. 14. Validates all the approvals from Human Resources Department in terms of medical and facility licensing, and from the Quality Supervisor for the risk assessment and DHP protocols. 15. Has the overall authority and accountability of whole Medical Department under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Public Health in terms of fitness to practice and any related issues arising in the Medical Services. **Qualifications** - A medical degree is required, accredited fellowship, and/or post-graduate courses in any medical field (an advantage) - Ten (10)+ years of clinical experience or practice - At least 5 years leadership and administrative experience including personnel management - Licensed Physician, Specialist, Fellow, or Consultant - **mandatory / essentia**l - Active DHP License as a physician, an advantage - Valid and recognized CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) Course; or BLS/ILS Certification (**Essential**) **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent Ability to commute
