Description

The CNC Programmer is responsible for quality programming of CNC machine tools. They work with operators and lead personnel and utilize Mastercam/personal training to produce precision, close tolerance parts. This position plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).Job Responsibilities Principal Accountabilities Modify and create programs Manage the setup of multiple machines for operators Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet specifications Monitor programs to ensure they follow blueprint instructions and complete tasks safely and successfully Additional Responsibilities Program new parts using best practices, including entering instructions, setting zero and reference points, tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; and proving part programs Prepare calculations for programming, including material cuts Translate instructions into CAM programs Write and modify programs for efficiency Analyze and select speeds and cutting tools Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and needs among shifts Assist machinists in troubleshooting Eliminate waste from processes Document systems and processes, including parts run on CNCs Create and maintain the tool list for CNCs, ensuring accuracy Evaluate completed designs to validate functions and reduce turnaround time Ensure programs follow blueprint instructions and complete tasks safely Job Knowledge & Skills Knowledge of specifications and standard operating procedures Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)Controls and instrumentation knowledge Skills in interpreting technical drawings and blueprints ERP knowledge, preferably SAP, is required Job Experience Total 8 years (On Job 4 years, GCC 2 years)Key competencies include accountability, resilience, quality, leadership, and technical skills such as Quality and Safety Level 2, Technical Drawings Level 2, JIT Manufacturing Level 2, and Sheet Metal Layout Level 2.Education Associate Degree in Computer Programming or a related field #J-18808-Ljbffr
