# Director of Engineering - Waldorf Astoria Doha Lusail Waldorf Astoria Doha Lusaillocation: Doha, Qatarcategory: Hotel Full-time Posted: May 25th, 2025Job Description The Director of Engineering manages the Engineering Team to maintain hotel operations, ensuring safety, security, conservation, and compliance at the highest standards. Responsibilities include overseeing engineering and maintenance operations, developing the team, and staying updated on compliance regulations relevant to hotel standards.Lead the Engineering Team in daily operations, including service standards, equipment schedules, and work planning.Coordinate maintenance activities with Housekeeping for guest rooms and public areas.Develop systems to ensure health and safety for guests and staff, and proper functioning of machinery and property.Engage with government agencies to ensure compliance with all regulations.Prepare budgets for Capital and Repairs & Maintenance.Conduct daily inspections around the hotel.Manage emergency procedures, including lift emergency releases.Diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment.Maintain hotel fixtures and fittings, ensuring safety and addressing unsafe conditions.Develop and implement emergency and energy conservation programs.Oversee renovation bids, project scope, and quality control.Manage special projects and other duties as assigned.Identify environmentally friendly systems and equipment.Monitor KPIs for the department and implement improvements.Handle team management activities: recruitment, performance, training, motivation.Qualifications and Skills Advanced knowledge of building management/engineering Degree in Engineering or similar Experience with budgeting and basic accounting Positive attitude and good communication skills Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent grooming standards Flexibility and ability to work under pressure Facilities management experience Proficiency with relevant computer programs Preferred Qualifications First Aid certification in engineering About Hilton The future of hospitality is bright at Hilton, a global leader with a diverse portfolio.
