Job Description1. The Veterinary Assistant's efficiency in the following areas will be the primary area of resultsjudgment Skill at handling horses for examination.2. Recognition of disease symptoms and basic ability to interpret such clinical signs.3. Skill at application of treatment procedures like injections, administration and monitoring of IVfluids and CRI pumps, applying bandages, dressings etc.4. Efficiency of performing basic laboratory procedure done on site.5. Taking care of cleaning and maintenance of all instruments and equipment used in the line ofduty.5. Efficient communication with both veterinary staff and nurses as well as grooms looking afterthe horses.Qualifications1. 2 years' work experience in equine veterinary care.2. Basic computer skills to enter records.3. A good level of spoken English and adequate written English to enable communication with other staff and keeping of case records is essential.4. Extensive experience as a Veterinary Assistant in the Equine field can be substituted for an official course in exceptional circumstances.5.
