# Group, Conference, and Events Manager - Waldorf Astoria Doha West Bay Waldorf Astoria - West Bay Doha Location: Doha, Ad Dawḩah, Qatar Category: Hotel Type: Full-time Posted: Jun 29th, 2025 Job Description The Group, Conference, and Events (GCE) Sales Manager manages the GCE Sales office and the on-property Reservations Team to actively convert customer enquiries into confirmed sales. As GCE Sales Manager, you will manage the sales office and Reservations Team, interacting frequently with customers and guests to understand their needs and develop relationships to encourage repeat and expanded business. Your responsibilities include: Maximising all GCE revenue opportunities Reviewing business plans, identifying gaps, and proactively filling capacity to meet targets Contributing to the hotel’s selling strategy and ensuring departmental adherence Understanding the competitive marketplace and implementing strategies to maintain a market-leading position Conducting weekly spot checks of bookings, aiming for at least 90% compliance in departmental and system audits Developing the GCE Sales Team to foster high standards in relationship building, customer service, selling techniques, and contract processing Managing team development, career progression, and succession planning Organising hotel promotional activities To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate: Previous managerial or supervisory experience in Reservations and/or Conference and Events Sales within the hotel/leisure sector Strong leadership skills to motivate and manage performance Excellent analytical skills to interpret business indicators and market trends Effective selling and coaching abilities Strong organisational and planning skills Accountability and resilience Ability to work under pressure and adapt to different situations Preferred capabilities include knowledge of hotel property management systems and experience in similar roles.
