Description

The Group Legal Counsel is responsible for overseeing all commercial legal activities of the Group, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company charters. The role involves assessing legal information, providing counsel to executives, collaborating on defense strategies, and monitoring internal governance policies.Job Responsibilities Contribute to the development of the company's vision, mission, and strategy, and lead the business unit’s strategic planning to align with organizational objectives.Build and lead a motivated, engaged, and competent team by setting priorities, managing performance, and providing ongoing coaching.Define an optimal organizational structure and oversee the development of divisions for efficient resource utilization.Collaborate with Human Capital to develop the manpower plan, ensuring timely delivery of tasks.Manage the business unit’s budget in line with the annual business plan.Oversee legal proceedings related to public-private partnerships (PPPs).Manage legal issues across all company areas, including corporate matters, procurement, safety, security, insurance, and sustainability.Assess and manage legal risks associated with business strategies and operations.Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and promote awareness among employees.Assign legal counsel to advise on contracts, corporate affairs, governance, compliance, joint ventures, major projects, disputes, and employment topics.Oversee the preparation and approval of contracts, legal documents, and corporate resolutions.Additional Responsibilities Align the business unit’s strategy with the company’s broader objectives.Manage and develop the legal team, ensuring effective performance.Oversee legal proceedings and manage relationships with law firms, shareholders, and government bodies.Job Knowledge & Skills Deep knowledge of legal principles, corporate law, and regulatory compliance.Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.Proficiency in drafting legal documents and contracts.Leadership skills to manage legal teams and collaborate with stakeholders.ERP knowledge, preferably SAP, is required.Job Experience Minimum 8 years of legal experience, including 5 years in a supervisory role, with GCC experience being a plus.Education Bachelor's Degree in Law or related field. #J-18808-Ljbffr
