Hanson Applied Sciences is a company which trades in large scale on sports betting markets and specialises mainly in the liquidity provision of betting exchanges.
The role
We are a growing proprietary sports trading operation based in Malta dealing mainly in the liquidity provision and market making of betting exchanges. The company uses a highly automated and low margin trading system with a betting turnover in excess of £40M a month. You will work as part of the trading operations team responsible for ensuring that the trading system is functioning optimally at all times and report any and all faults. You will also be assisting with other operational tasks.
We currently have 2 posts available for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring real time system performance and looking out for failures, bandwidth, latency
- Monitoring that trading takes place on all intended markets
- Report any unusual positions on a market basis
- End of day settlement auditing / bank reconciliation
- Investigating market trends to obtain insights into counterparty betting patterns
- Accounting tasks
- Data analysis on trading activity
- Other business related tasks as required (accounting, recruitment, business development)
Requirements:
- Demonstrable knowledge or interest in the betting industry
- Living in Malta or willing to relocate
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Highly numerate and competent in Excel
- Able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and public holidays
Key Traits:
- Able to work alone with little supervision
- Ability to communicate with technical teams at all levels
- Excellent attention to detail
