LOCATION ROTHERHAM
Purpose:
To plan, prepare and teach Study programme courses including Functional Skills, PSD / Employability and a Business skills vocational element. Assessing, supporting and developing learners to gain qualifications that will enhance their further education and / or career prospects.
Reporting to:
Centre Manager
Knowledge Skills and Experience:
- Hold a teaching qualification DTTLS or equivalent
- Hold an assessors award A1
- Hold a Functional skills qualification Level 2 in English, Maths and ICT
- Knowledge of Foundation Learning
- Communication skills
- Time management skills
- Organisational skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Ability to motivate and encourage learner participation
- Minimum 2 years experience in teaching post 16 learners
- Minimum 2 years occupational competency
Duties:
- Plan and deliver session's including functional skills from entry 1 to level 2, PSD/Employability and a vocational qualification
- To prepare and review session plans, schemes of work and teaching and learning materials using initial assessments and marked work to take into account the learners individual needs
- To improve learners experience through development of teaching methods and strategies
- Embed Equality and Diversity in the curriculum
- Prepare learners for examinations to gain the appropriate qualifications
- Continually monitor and review learners' progress and support through tutorials
- Use Learning Assistant to communicate with learners, monitor progress and capture evidence
- Assist in the writing, design and development of curriculum through planning time and standardisation meetings
- Monitor attendance, punctuality and progress whilst building portfolios with learners
- To consistently deliver a 'good' standard of teaching and learning
- Accurately complete all relevant paperwork in line with company procedures and awarding bodies.
- Offer IAG on further learning and progression opportunities.
- To promote company courses to potential candidates and employers.
- Assist in meeting company targets, retention, progression and achievement of all learners.
- Accurately complete all relevant paperwork in line with company procedures.
- Promote and comply with the company policies and procedures.
- Act on feedback from observations from teaching and learning and internal and external verifying visits.
- Undertake necessary training to professionally develop and keep abreast with current practices and legislation within the sector.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Undertake any other routine task, as required by senior staff.
