Key Responsibilities:
Planning
• Reviews targets set by the business and makes plans to reach and exceed those targets
• Identifies opportunities for sales growth
• Plans for seasonal promotional events
• Shares plans with retail manager & acts on suggestions of retail manager
• Implements & delivers plans through working with store management team
• Identifies local / store specific trends ( slow / fast selling lines, competitor activity, local marketing opportunities), and provides feedback to relevant people at HQ ( marketing team)
• Shares best practice with Retail Manager, other store managers, own management team
• Plans staffing needs and costs in line with expected patterns of trade. Recruits as necessary.
• Takes full responsibility for P&L and budgets at store level
• Plans optimal store merchandise layouts, and re-merchandises as necessary
• Translates Company initiatives and objectives into store action plans
Team Management
• Delegation of tasks to team, monitors progress
• Training & development of the store management team - in technical and management skills; provides regular feedback on performance; identifies candidates for further progression and supports their development
• Reviews performance and sets objectives for the store management team
• Day to day guidance and direction of the management team
• Ensure high levels of morale and motivation within the team
• Oversee day to day management of store teams (communication, guidance, training, direction, performance management)
• Supply Chain Management
• Inventory management
Customer Service
• Actively seeks and encourages customer feedback; acts on feedback given
• Foster a service culture around the three customer promises of:

• Ensures high standards of customer service are consistently delivered in store
• Ensure high standards of Visual Merchandising
Operational Deliverables
• Ensures all store procedures are carried out in line with the Store Operations Guidelines
• Performs daily 'floor walks' to ensure high store standards are being maintained
• Builds successful relationships with centre managers / high street committees
• Manages 3rd party providers ( Security, Maintenance)
• Ensures high standards are maintained in store (display, stock levels, cleanliness)
• Escalation of issues to Retail Manager as necessary
• Oversees stock counts and stock takes on a regular basis, investigating losses and taking remedial action as necessary.
• Takes action to minimise external and internal stock shrinkage
• Ensures high 'back of house' standards well organised office, stock room
• Is responsible for Health & Safety within the store, including:
o Conducting six monthly risk assessments
o Carry out fire & evacuation procedures for every new starter and at regular intervals with the team
o Ensuring appropriate health & safety documentation is on display, and used as appropriate ( accident book)
Person Specification:
Essential
• Retail management experience >4 years, to include management of large teams (>30); P&L responsibility for turnover > £
• Proven track record of meeting and exceeding targets
• Experience of managing high volume sales
• Excellent communication skills - oral and written
• Confident user of computer applications email; word processing; spreadsheets; stock control systems
• Analytical - comfortable with analysing & interpreting figures
• Passionate about customer service
• Has a positive attitude
• Flexible and adaptable
• Enjoys managing & developing people
• Ability to prioritise tasks; ability to react to changing priorities
