Job details
- Confer with the Nutritionist to develop a menu with high nutritional value, rich flavor, desirable presentation, and cost-effective ingredients.
- Develop the list of equipment needed for the central kitchen.
- Take part in interviewing Kitchen Crew job applicants alongside the Operations Director.
- Train and test new hires.
- Participate in marketing events where food tasting is taking place and act as a representative of the company.
- Play a key role during the pre-opening period and during the opening event for the company.
- Devote creativity to develop new items for future menus.
- Monitor inventory and place orders for raw material and kitchen supplies.
- Review and accept deliveries of ordered material and supplies.
- Develop kitchen rosters taking into consideration the different labor constraints.
- Provide guidance to the Kitchen Crew members and make sure the menu items are prepared at the set standards and timeframes.
- Check expiration dates labelling after section chefs to make sure no items are mislabeled.
- Ensure a healthy turnover of frozen and refrigerated overhead.
- Conduct performance appraisals for subordinates at the designated time of year.
