Job details
Purpose :
To coordinate the works to complete project on time, to liaison with consultants, sub-contractors, Engineering dept., Procurement dept., Accounts dept., Administration dept., Safety, etc, to participate in construction meeting to be updated and keep subordinates updated, to ensure that all activities are achieved with the set policies & procedures with optimum manpower utilization and qualities.
Accountabilities:
- To prepare weekly reports, daily look ahead program, consultant report, daily manpower & equipment report, time sheet, and project progress report.
- To prepare monthly subcontractors payments certificate, inspection request, concrete request, manpower status etc.
- To indent materials and request for resources.
- To prepare accident report (if any).
- To perform evaluation of laborers.
Duties:
- Allocates daily manpower & delegates works to foremen & chargehands.
- Coordinates with sub-contractors for smooth functioning of site.
- Checks & ensures works/activities to be completed as per drawings & quality.
- Coordinates with garage for machinery, equipments, and transportation.
- Follows MRF, LPO, supplier & garage (if required) for materials delivery.
- Checks & ensures materials delivery as per LPs quantities & quality.
- Makes concrete request & to follow ups for smooth delivery during casting.
- Checks (ready mix) concrete (slump, temperature, etc) & takes sample for testing.
- Requests & sends sample (cube, steel, etc) for testing in lab, collect test reports, coordinates for test reports submittal.
- Coordinates & gets approvals of materials, prepares materials submittal log.
- Coordinates with engineering for discrepancies, changes, variations as build drawings, etc. and issues follow up
- Prepares variation report, if any.
- Prepares payment certificate, measurement sheets for subcontractor's works and to check Garage & subcontractor's invoice.
- Imparts training to workers for skill improvement.
- Checks store materials and store registers.
- Gets installed and maintains basic facilities and amenities for workers at site.
- Creates & maintains conducive environment for work at site and addresses worker's grievances, if any.
- Provides to workers, installs safety sign boards, safety equipments as per requirements, and takes all safety measures before starting work.
- Follows the site work as per the construction drawings.
- Follows look ahead program in coordination with Project Manager and Project Engineer.
- Controls & monitors the quality of work, along with supervising the work of laborers.
- Controls the productivity task with the foreman.
- Follows the daily activities and targets.
- Inspects & conforms the completed activities prior to inspection.
- Represents the inspections with Authorities and coordinates with consultants for all inspections.
- Follows the concrete castings.
- Controls and monitors the daily overtime.
- Performs surveying and leveling as per approved drawings.
- Prepares MRF prior to the works.
- Follow-ups for LPO of MAT delivery.
- Coordinates & inspects the work with sub-contractors for all sub-contractor's work.
- Prepares the concreting log, maintains the cubes and follow-ups for test results.
- Performs any other related work as assigned to him.
Communication and Work Relationship:
- Internal: Project Manager, Foreman, Chargehands, Workers, Procurement, Planning and Cost Control, Accounts, Administration and Safety.
- External: Sub-contractors, consultants and material and concrete suppliers.
Work Environment
Works on Construction sites in the weather prevailing at the time of work. He has an office station in an air conditioned office in equipped with all facilities to work effectively.
