Student Counsellor

GEMS Wellington Academy, Silicon Oasis is seeking an experienced Student Counsellor. The post commences in August 2025. The position reports to the Assistant Principal Safeguarding. Job Purpose Organise and provide personal, social, and emotional counselling for WSO’s community, fostering a culture of wellbeing through various programs across the school. Promote student success through leadership, advocacy, and collaboration by implementing a comprehensive school counselling program that includes individual and group counselling, classroom lessons, and school-wide initiatives. Main Duties Program Delivery Provide individual and group counselling to students with identified concerns. Deliver assemblies on relevant personal, social, and emotional topics. Collaborate with parents/guardians, school leadership, and community resources regarding student needs. Plan and promote mental health initiatives for staff and students. Communicate counselling goals and progress with leadership and staff. Develop activities that promote holistic student development, responsibility, leadership, and social skills. Maintain accessible resources for students, parents, and staff. Establish procedures to secure external assistance for students with ongoing emotional needs. System Support Set procedures and timelines for counselling services. Implement referral and follow-up processes. Maintain records of student progress and activities.
