Audio Engineer
Description
Main Responsibilities Drive up the technical standards and capabilities of the company. Collaborate with colleagues to review departmental progress and technical needs. Research technological developments and cascade information to the team. Train and supervise Technicians and Crew on equipment operation and tasks. Work as part of a team on and off site. Configure equipment at advanced levels. Maintain advanced knowledge of all audio equipment and industry technology, learn new equipment quickly, and teach the team proper operation, hanging, and inspection. Lead by example and maintain consistent performance. Interact directly with clients on site in a customer-oriented manner. Run shows of all sizes, manage operations and site management, and lead a team of Technicians and Crew. Manage projects and teams in the absence of a Project Manager. Assist Project Managers with planning and equipment specifications. Support the Head of Department and report all fixture defects. Prepare, test, maintain, repair, and clean equipment prior to jobs. Monitor and repair equipment during shows, troubleshoot faults, and perform repairs including high-end equipment. Build and install equipment on site independently, according to layout. Set up and operate systems/equipment. Load and unload equipment. Clean and store equipment after shows. Rig and de-rig equipment safely. Perform annual inventory of equipment. Adhere to health and safety regulations and wear PPE. Report health and safety issues to the HSE Manager. Follow company policies, rules, and procedures. Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned. Required Skills Advanced knowledge of the production and event industry. At least 5 years of technical experience in audio. Expertise in all audio equipment and ability to advise technically. Ability to read and understand technical plans. Proven leadership with experience managing small teams and running shows. Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills. Assist in scheduling and job preparation. Proficient in MS Office (Word and Excel). Good written and spoken English.
