About The Role As Soter’s Lead Pricing Actuary , we seek an individual who combines technical expertise and creative problem-solving to build pricing models and frameworks from scratch. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and help shape the future of insurance for institutional clients in the digital asset economy. This role reports to the Head of Underwriting and can be based in Bermuda, New York, Dubai, or London. Compensation includes a competitive salary, equity, and other benefits, depending on location, experience, and skills. What You'll Do Develop and refine pricing models for innovative insurance products, including digital asset loss and third-party liability risks. Research and collaborate across teams to develop rating factors using data sources like on-chain analytics and smart contract audits. Create and maintain actuarial models for rate indications and internal capital parameters. Perform profitability analysis and monitor underwriting results with dashboards. Design flexible pricing strategies that adapt to emerging risks and market volatility in crypto. Stay updated on blockchain, digital assets, and De Fi trends to inform risk assessment strategies. Qualifications 5+ years of pricing experience in Property & Casualty Re/Insurance, with exposure to specialty or financial lines. Proficiency in Python, Julia, R, Excel, or similar; familiarity with actuarial tools like Emblem, Radar, or Prophet is a plus. Strong understanding of insurance pricing methodologies, credibility theory, and risk management. Analytical skills with experience handling limited or nontraditional datasets. Interest or familiarity with blockchain, De Fi, crypto trading, or staking mechanisms. Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment. Nice to Haves Actuarial designation (ASA/FCAS, FIA, FFA, or equivalent). Experience in emerging or underserved markets. Background in crypto, cybersecurity, fintech, or risk consulting. Understanding of regulatory aspects of crypto insurance. Experience with captives and alternative risk transfer solutions. Why Join Soter?
