Posted on: 3 April 2025 Department: Business Development Location: Dubai Experience required: 5 - 13 years Reporting to Global CEO Dubai, UAE Job Purpose: The Global Network Development Manager will be responsible for the strategic development and management of We Freight's global network of business partners, agents, and stakeholders in the freight forwarding industry. This leadership role involves identifying, building, and maintaining relationships with international logistics providers, agents, optimizing supply chain efficiencies, and expanding the company's reach in key markets worldwide. The role also involves overseeing network expansion efforts, ensuring seamless operations across borders, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver customer-centric logistics solutions. Key Responsibilities: Global Network Strategy & Expansion: Develop and execute the company’s global business network strategy to enhance market presence and drive international business development opportunities. Identify and secure new partnerships with freight forwarders, shipping lines, third-party logistics (3PL) providers, customs brokers, and other relevant industry stakeholders. Lead the expansion of the company’s global presence by identifying key markets for strategic entry or growth. Negotiate and establish long-term partnerships and contracts with global agents, suppliers, and partners. Build and nurture strong relationships with key partners, ensuring mutual benefit, high service levels, and alignment with company objectives. Serve as the primary liaison between the company and external partners, advocating for We Freight’s interests while ensuring high satisfaction and performance from all parties involved. Oversee regular partner performance reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Market Intelligence & Trend Analysis: Monitor and analyze global market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes to identify business opportunities and risks. Provide insights to senior management on market conditions, operational efficiencies, and opportunities for strategic growth. Stay abreast of industry best practices and technological innovations to maintain We Freight’s competitive edge. Collaboration with Internal Teams: Collaborate closely with the Business Development, Operations, and Customer Service teams to ensure seamless integration of business network activities with overall company objectives. Work with the IT department to explore and implement technological solutions that improve network operations and visibility. Assist in developing training and onboarding programs for internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment and understanding of global processes. Financial Management (Optional): Set and manage budget forecasts for network development and expansion activities. Ensure that global network initiatives align with company revenue goals and profitability targets. Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies within the global network. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all global partnerships and network operations comply with international trade regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Manage risks related to international logistics, including currency fluctuations, customs regulations, and geopolitical factors (optional). Lead initiatives to mitigate risks in the global supply chain and implement contingency plans where necessary. Track and report key performance metrics related to global network expansion, partner performance, and market penetration. Provide regular reports to senior leadership on network performance, growth initiatives, and strategic developments. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Achievement of global network expansion targets and milestones. Number of new partnerships established and growth of key business relationships. Growth and development of key markets and trade lanes. Partner performance and satisfaction levels. Timeliness and accuracy of reporting on network performance and key developments. We Freight Branch offices Education requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. An MBA or similar advanced degree is preferred. Language requirements: • Experience in freight forwarding or logistics is an advantage. Competencies and skills: Minimum 5 years of experience in the logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain industry, with a focus on global business development or network management. Proven track record of successfully developing and managing international business relationships and global logistics networks. Experience with multinational teams and managing cross-cultural negotiations. Strong understanding of freight forwarding, transportation modes (air, sea, land), and supply chain technologies. Experience in trade lane development and working within a global network. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently with a self-motivated and disciplined approach. Strong strategic thinking and market analysis skills. Experience in coordinating across branches or regions to drive business growth.
