Responsibilities Accurately review and dispense prescribed medications to patients, ensuring no errors. Provide expert advice on over-the-counter medication and healthcare products. Check prescriptions for correct dosage and potential drug interactions or contraindications. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to monitor, document, and improve patient outcomes. Effectively communicate with patients about medication usage, side effects, and storage. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmaceutical guidelines, treatments, and innovations. Supervise pharmacy technicians, interns, and other support staff effectively. Keep accurate records of medication dispensing and inventory control. Manage pharmacy operations, including financial transactions and regulatory compliance. Educate patients on disease prevention, healthy lifestyles, and overall wellness strategies. Coordinate immunization programs and provide vaccinations as needed by the community. Address and resolve any medication-related inquiries or issues from patients or healthcare providers. Requirements Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy school. Valid license to practice pharmacy. Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical or retail pharmacy setting. Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with precision and accuracy. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for patient interactions. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with healthcare professionals. Proficient in using pharmacy software and technology for managing patient records.
