Careers for a Changing World of Islamic Banking Senior Officer - Marketing Communications Posted On 21 Apr, 2025 Type: Retail Banking Job Category: Retail Banking Job Purpose: The Senior Officer - Marketing Communications is responsible for developing and implementing strategic communication initiatives to enhance brand visibility, customer engagement, market positioning, build brand equity, support product launches, and drive customer engagement across ATL, BTL, and digital touchpoints. The role ensures all marketing and corporate communication efforts align with the bank’s brand identity, Shariah principles, and regulatory requirements. Additionally, the position involves managing media relations, internal and external communications, and supporting marketing campaigns to drive awareness and business growth. Key Accountabilities: Develop and execute marketing communication strategies: Enhance brand awareness and craft compelling, consistent messaging across all mediums. Ensure compliance: All marketing materials must align with brand guidelines, regulatory requirements, and Shariah principles. Manage events: Oversee customer-facing and corporate events from a marketing perspective, ensuring engagement and visibility. Manage communications: Handle internal and external communications, including press releases, newsletters, and media relations. Coordinate stakeholder efforts: Work with internal teams and external agencies for campaign execution. Oversee collateral production: Manage the creation and distribution of marketing assets, ensuring quality and brand adherence. Regulatory compliance: Ensure all materials comply with Shariah guidelines and banking regulations, working closely with legal and compliance teams. Decision-making: Develop and execute strategies within the approved budget, providing recommendations based on market insights. Operational management: Manage projects within budgets and deadlines, collaborating with teams and agencies for cost-effective execution. Crisis communication: Provide input on media relations and crises, coordinating with PR and senior management for official responses. Guidance and authority: Operate under the Head of Marketing's guidance, with authority to brief agencies and recommend content edits. Qualifications, Experience & Skills Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field. Master’s degree or certification in Digital Marketing/PR is a plus. 4–6 years of experience in marketing communications, branding, or corporate communications. Experience in banking, financial services, or Islamic banking is preferred. Language Skills: Excellent proficiency in English & Arabic (written & spoken). Bilingual (English & Arabic) preferred for effective communication. Computer/System/Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook). Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat & Creative Suite (Photoshop, In Design, Illustrator). Familiarity with CRM tools, digital marketing platforms, social media management tools, and project management software.
