This position ensures that all employees are paid accurately and timely while complying with all federal, state, and local regulations. The Payroll Specialist must possess a strong understanding of payroll systems, tax regulations, and have the ability to troubleshoot and resolve payroll discrepancies. They work closely with HR, finance, and accounting teams to ensure seamless payroll operations. Additionally, this role may involve the preparation of various payroll reports and providing support during audits or financial reviews. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong numerical skills, and maintain confidentiality in dealing with sensitive employee data. Responsibilities Process payroll for all employees accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain employee payroll records and verify timesheet accuracy. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations. Calculate and process deductions like taxes, benefits, and garnishments accurately. Manage and resolve any payroll discrepancies and issues as they arise. Coordinate with the HR department for any payroll-related changes or updates. Assist in the preparation of payroll reports for management and auditing purposes. Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive payroll information. Stay updated with the latest payroll practices and regulatory changes. Handle employee inquiries and concerns regarding their pay or deductions. Participate in the development and implementation of payroll policies and procedures. Collaborate with finance department for accurate financial reporting and budgeting. Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred. At least 2 years of experience working in a payroll position required. Strong knowledge of payroll software systems and related financial software. Familiarity with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations. Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail are necessary for this role. Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration.
