Direct message the job poster from Hays PLC Recruitment Consultant - Hays Contracting The Purpose of the Compliance Manager – Fire Life Safety is to represent the Facility Responsible Owner (Head of Terminals), as the “Facility Responsible owners Representative”, he/she will ensure adherence to fire life safety standards. This involves owning and maintaining the Building Fire Life Safety Manual, overseeing updates of all processes ( i.e. Evacuation Drawings, Plans and SOP including POD Evac process, and conduct relevant training and awareness sessions), and ensuring compliance with local and international codes, standards, and manuals. Responsible for verifying the Building FLS assessment submissions from the Building Fire Safety Manual consultant or relevant business units (AFS / ES) meets the required standards. Collaborate closely with Business Units or project managers on FLS Assessment corrective actions and projects related to fire safety, ensuring smooth execution and timely reporting of progress to the Facility Responsible Owner. Coordination with the Airport Fire Safety Department is essential in implementing necessary fire safety measures for all facility deliverables and activities. Furthermore, the post holder will provide input for effective and efficient fire safety project delivery and incorporate corrective actions into the building fire safety manual to align with project goals. Communication with stakeholders, various departments, and regulatory bodies is also a key aspect of the role. Plan and execute evacuation drills every 2 years in compliance with the building fire safety standards and TSD business continuity plans Qualifications: Fire Engineering / Airports & Aviation Fire Life Safety Management Professional Qualifications/Regulatory/Certification Requirements: Master's degree /Bachelor ‘s degree in Fire Science, Engineering or a related field is often required. Strong knowledge NFPA, IBC & UAE Fire Code Having one of the below certificates is advantage. Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS by NFPA) Certified Fire Inspector (CFI by ICC) Certified Safety Professional (CSP by BCSP), Certified Emergency Manager (CEM by IAEM) Industry Experience: Fire Life Safety Design, Engineering and Management Experience in Fire Life Safety strategy development, fire protection systems (Active & Passive) preferably within airport terminal buildings /similar sized buildings Health and Safety compliance. Project delivery, scheduling and coordination from initiation to completion Leadership & consultative approach within a corporate / multifunctional, multicultural environment. Understanding of the aviation industry. Understanding of issues related to working in a regulated industry. Understanding of the complexity and challenges of driving/building a project delivery culture Core Activities Experience: Fire Life Safety code requirement, Knowledge of Fire Safety Regulations for Airports and all the related standards Own and maintain Building Fire Safety Manual Ability to assess fire risks within facilities and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively. Problem-Solving: Being able to advise on the troubleshooting issues related to fire safety compliance and develop solutions to address them Communication: Strong communication skills are crucial for coordinating with various departments, stakeholders, and regulatory.
