Teachers in Abu Dhabi enjoy an excellent lifestyle as well as extensive travel and leisure opportunities around the region and further afield.Key Responsibilities: Uphold the GEMS Core Values of innovation, excellence, lifelong learning, and global citizenship in all aspects of teaching and student interactions. Deliver engaging lessons that meet curriculum standards, adapting to diverse learning styles and individual student needs, including ESL and gifted students. Maintain accurate records of planning, assessments, and attendance, ensuring policies and codes of conduct are consistently followed. Use media and technology effectively in the classroom to enhance learning experiences. Foster student progress and well-being through academic guidance, behavior management, and promoting cultural awareness. Collaborate with colleagues to develop teaching resources and contribute to the school’s co-curricular and extra-curricular programs. Communicate regularly with parents to keep them informed of student progress, upholding confidentiality where required. Participate in staff meetings, school events, and extra duties as needed, demonstrating commitment beyond the standard workday. Participate in appraisal and Performance Management procedures and Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Skills Successful candidates will need to: Hold a BEd or Bachelors degree with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent in relevant specialism English/Social Studies Have proven experience of teaching English/Social Studies, ideally within an IB or American Curriculum School, however this is not mandatory. Have experience teaching at Secondary/High School level Have the ability to share exemplary teaching practices. A creative and enthusiastic approach, both inside and outside the classroom. Possess excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with colleagues, students and parents. Have a proven track record of providing outstanding learning & teaching.
