Overview We are seeking a Commercial Analyst to support the Sales/Business Development (BD) team in managing the commercial and financial aspects of bids and proposals to clients. The role reports administratively to Sales/BD and functionally to Finance, collaborating with project managers and legal counsel. Responsibilities Bid Preparation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with client requirements. Review financial estimates, cost models, and commercial terms. Contract Review: Assist in analyzing and negotiating contractual terms, identifying financial risks, and working with legal teams to finalize agreements. Pricing Strategy: Develop pricing strategies balancing competitiveness and profitability, considering market conditions and risks. Financial Analysis: Evaluate project revenue, costs, and potential savings; collaborate with finance for accurate forecasting and profit analysis. Compliance: Ensure adherence to policies, regulations, and standards during bid and project execution. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks. Client Relations: Maintain positive relationships, respond to queries regarding commercial and contractual matters. Continuous Improvement: Seek process improvements to enhance bidding capabilities. Market Research: Stay informed on industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial and contract management, preferably in project-based environments. Strong knowledge of commercial principles, pricing, and cost analysis. Understanding of contract terms, legal aspects, and risk assessment. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Analytical mindset with data utilization skills. Detail-oriented with organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word. Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams. Capable of handling multiple bids and projects in fast-paced settings.
