Operations Technician - Desalination/Water-filling station (Emiratisation) Operations Technician - Desalination/Water-filling station (Emiratisation) Direct message the job poster from Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) Technician - Desalination Operations (Water-filling station) Job Purpose: To perform all aspects of the operation of the desalination plant in order to achieve safe and optimum operation of associated systems — with a current assignment at the water filling station, focusing on daily operational support and cash handling responsibilities. The role ensures proper service delivery to customers, accurate transaction processing, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Key Accountabilities: Strictly follows all safety procedures and adheres to PPE requirements in carrying out all responsibilities. Ensures that all personnel adhere to PPE. Ensures all maintenance work in the area of responsibility conforms to PTW and EHS requirements. Acts upon verbal instructions from Desal Supervisor/Control Room in terms of operational adjustments or changes in priority during the shift. Operates and monitors equipment and systems at the water filling station , ensuring smooth and safe operations. Handles cash transactions from customers, maintains records, issues receipts, and ensures accurate reconciliation of collected amounts. Provides basic customer support and service at the station, ensuring an efficient and orderly filling process. Monitors and records operational data manually and through electronic loggers. Logs data promptly and accurately for analysis. Performs routine checks on equipment for safety and operational integrity; reports issues or malfunctions promptly. Maintains cleanliness and safety of the equipment and work area at all times. Applies relevant Standard Operating and Emergency Procedures when required. Liaises with the Supervisor during plant or station-related emergencies and supports restoration to normal conditions. Minimum Qualifications: Higher Secondary School Certificate. 1 to 2 years of experience handling cash transactions (e.g. cashier, customer-facing utility role, service counter). Experience in Desalination Plant is an advantage Skills: Achieved competencies in all areas except DCR operation. English language skills (to prepare and complete shift reports. Intermediate 3 or equivalent level). Communication Skills. Ability to understand single line diagram. Planning and organising skills.
