We are partnering with a market-leading organization to find a Senior Legal Counsel who will play a pivotal role in shaping the legal strategy of a dynamic and high-performing energy business. This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious lawyer (strictly 5-10PQE) to take on a senior position, working closely with the General Counsel and executive leadership. You’ll have the chance to influence key business decisions, lead negotiations on major contracts, and contribute to high-profile corporate and M&A activities. What Makes This Role Exciting? Strategic Influence – Act as a key advisor to the General Counsel, stepping in as their delegate when needed and driving legal and compliance initiatives across the organization. High-Visibility Role – Engage with senior management, attend executive meetings, and contribute to corporate strategy discussions. Global Reach – Work in an international environment, advising on legal and regulatory aspects across multiple jurisdictions. Key Responsibilities Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including construction contracts, JV agreements, MOUs, and confidentiality agreements. Provide legal and regulatory advice to senior stakeholders, ensuring the business remains compliant with evolving legislation. Play a key role in M&A due diligence and corporate transactions, managing risk and driving strategic outcomes. Oversee dispute resolution and litigation matters, working closely with external counsel as needed. Develop and implement corporate policies and governance frameworks to enhance risk management and compliance. Represent the legal function in senior management meetings, ensuring legal considerations are embedded in business decision-making. Lead, mentor, and develop junior legal team members, fostering a high-performance legal function. What We’re Looking For Common Law Qualified Lawyer with 5-10PQE, ideally with construction, commercial, or corporate experience. Strong commercial contract expertise, with the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives. Experience in managing external counsel and working on international legal matters. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage at all levels of the business. Strong leadership capabilities, with a collaborative and solutions-focused approach. Why Apply?
