Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings for accurate system installations. Perform routine inspections and maintenance to ensure fire systems are operational. Collaborate with engineers and safety personnel to design effective fire fighting systems. Identify and repair leaks or broken pipes in fire protection systems. Ensure compliance with current safety codes and municipal regulations. Utilize hand and power tools effectively and safely for installations and repairs. Document all installations, maintenance services, and repairs accurately for records. Conduct fire system testing to verify operational efficiency and system readiness. Train other staff members on fire safety procedures and equipment use. Procure materials and supplies necessary for repair and installation tasks. Respond promptly to emergency calls for fire system failures or hazards. Requirements Proven experience as a fire fighting technician or in a similar pipe fitting role. Excellent knowledge of fire safety codes, regulations, and installation standards. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents accurately. Proficient in using various hand and power tools necessary for pipe fitting. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to technical details and safety. Effective communication skills for both technical documentation and teamwork. Certification in fire protection systems or relevant technical disciplines preferred.
