This individual is primarily focused on creating structures that are safe, functional, and efficient, serving the purpose identified by the client.List of typical duties and responsibilities: Conduct project technical assessments and structural analysis to propose optimal solutions.Prepare structural calculation models in engineering software, design calculations, and technical specifications.Engage in project value engineering.Make decisions related to design issues.Provide design input and advisory support for the Project Manager/Engineer, coordinating ongoing technical matters.Report to the Department Manager regarding work progress.Follow up with Project Consultant Engineers and the Resident Engineer.Liaise and coordinate with other designers, engineers, and architects to produce technically, economically, and aesthetically optimized designs.Work with geotechnical engineers to investigate ground conditions and analyze soil investigation results and in situ tests.Provide expertise for structural assessments of existing structures, investigating for technical surveys and advising on how to improve structural integrity.Check, analyze, and compare requirements between contract specifications, B.O.Q., and drawings for project technical studies and clarifications with the Consultant.Attend meetings dedicated to design-related issues.Supervise the drafting team for the timely preparation of shop drawings and other submittals.Follow up with the Procurement Department, Suppliers, and Subcontractors regarding material suitability and availability for design purposes.What do we need from you Qualification: Degree in Structural Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in Steel Structure Engineering.Familiarity with Infrastructural and Industrial Steel Structures, as well as Special and High-End Steel Structures of various purposes.Skills: Knowledge and advanced command of design engineering software packages for structural analysis, modeling, and drafting purposes (e.g., Midas, SAP2000, Staad Pro, IDEA Stati Ca, Revit, Auto CAD); knowledge of RFEM software package would be an advantage.Experience and excellent understanding of best engineering practices, broad technical and structural knowledge in design techniques, standards, and guidelines.Experience with Eurocodes, US and British design standards, and local engineering guidelines and design manuals.Self-driven team player with organizational skills, able to work independently.Proficient in MS Office with good computer skills; programming experience would be an advantage.Driving license required.Reports to Design Engineering Department Manager. #J-18808-Ljbffr
