The Role

As a

Backend Developer

, you’ll be a key contributor in scaling our infrastructure to handle millions of daily records. You’ll work closely with our technical leadership to design, optimize, and maintain high-performance systems that power AI-driven features and large-scale data operations.

Technical Stack

Languages: Python (Flask)

Infrastructure: Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Workflows)

Databases: Postgre SQL (Cloud SQL with vector tables), Firestore

AI/ML: Open AI GPT-4.1, vector embeddings, semantic search

Key Responsibilities

Build and optimize scalable backend systems to support large-scale workloads.

Design efficient database schemas and write performant SQL queries for large datasets.

Implement and iterate on embedding-based vector search for semantic recommendations.

Develop cloud functions and workflows on Google Cloud Platform.

Collaborate on AI-driven features including LLM integration and prompt engineering.

Solve complex scalability challenges (e.g., processing millions of images/records efficiently).

Write tests and contribute to CI/CD processes using AI-assisted development tools.

What We're Looking For

Strong SQL expertise: Database optimization, efficient query design, indexing strategies, understanding query complexity.

Python proficiency: Experience with Flask or similar frameworks.

Scale mindset: You understand that "doing it once" vs "doing it a million times in an hour" requires different approaches.

Work Details

Hours: Full Central Time (9–5 CST) availability preferred; minimum overlap of 5 hours required (9a–2p CST).

Location: Remote.

Type: Full‑time contractor.
