You know how to cope with all costs relating to constructions and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures? If yes, then you are the right candidate for our open project - Quantity Surveyor in Mall, Qatar.
Job purpose: As Quantity Surveyor aims to minimize the costs of projects and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality, keeping track of any variations to the contract that may affect costs.
Location: Doha, Qatar
About Employer: It is Qatar-based conglomerate, one of the oldest and largest business entities. Company activities include real estate, investments, retail, automotive distribution and services, F&B, engineering, entertainment and media.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review of contract documents
• Preparation of MEP/ Civil BOQ and costing sheet as per ISO standard and detail price break down
• Review project specifications and subcontracting services estimates
• Seek technical input from involved departments for tender submission
• Evaluation of vendor's technical and commercial proposals and making cost comparative statements
• Calculate the cost of material and labor needed for the project duly incorporating standards of international code, NFPA, Civil Defense requirements and local municipality requirements
• Responsible for researching suppliers and containing quotations for required works within the group facilities
• Review architectural, structural drawings and MEP drawings to undertake quantity takeoff
• Preparation of Bills of Material / Material Takeoff (MTO)
• Estimating and controlling expenditures during the bidding phase
• Prepare response and communications to vendors and document proposal modifications during proposal fact finding and clarification phase
Requirements:
• Work experience as Quantity Surveyor 6-10 years in construction and fit outs for malls or commercial properties
• Degree or Diploma (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Civil) with a Quantity Surveyor qualification (RICS or equivalent)
• Specialist knowledge: Commercial acumen, Cycle costing, Cost planning, Procurement and Tendering, Project Management , Budget Management, Attention to detail, Good interpersonal skills, Ability to work to deadlines
• Sociable personality
• Fluent English speaker, Arabic is an advantage.
