Position Summary

As a System Administrator / DevOps, your primary focus will be the setup, maintenance, hosting, management, security and availability of various systems, servers, applications and platforms that are used both for the company's primary function - software development, as well as for our clients' use.

Job Duties

• Ensure that all servers are up, required services are running
• Ensure server environments are available, reliable and secured
• Maintain servers' health and uptime through monitoring tools
• Provision server environments as required by development teams
• Audit of company hardware and software resources
• Deploy websites and other PHP web applications to the servers
• Ensure database systems are up and running
• Ensure backups are timely and available for restoration
• Provision new hardware for new staff and various company needs relating to IT

3 or More Years Of Experience In The Following Areas / Skills Required

• Strong foundation in Linux systems administration preferably with Centos and Ubuntu/Debian based distributions
• Strong foundation in web hosting environments
• In-depth experience working with DNS servers, Web servers (nginx and apache), DB servers (mysql/mariadb)

1 or More Years Of Experience In The Following Areas / Skills Required

• Comfortable working in 24x7x365 operations
• Experience in virtualization platforms / concepts / environments
• Basic to intermediate networking skills working with firewalls and switches
• General hardware/PC troubleshooting skills

Experience in Any of the Following is Considered an Advantage / Bonus

• Understanding of DevOps as a culture
• Worked with cloud-based applications/services
• Experience with monitoring tools, version control systems like git, configuration management tools like Ansible
• Experience with Gitlab CI/CD, Jenkins
• Experience with blockchain nodes
• Software/Web development experience/understanding - Wordpress, Laravel etc.
