My client are expanding their services in the United Arab Emirates.We are currently shortlisting candidates with the below qualifications:
Membership of the Royal College of Psychology and completion of Certificate of Specialist ;
EXPERIENCE: The preferred candidate would have a sound and safe knowledge of psychopharmacological practice in children and adolescents, have a range of therapeutic experience and work within the framework of the NICE guidelines
The successful candidate will need to show evidence of patient-centred care and the ability to work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing motivation and guidance as well as accepting feedback and be committed to continuous professional education.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: English essential, working knowledge of Arabic would be an advantage.
Job Specification This service is a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary, child and young people-focused which uses evidence based, effective treatments . It will cover Tier 2 and Tier 3 (outpatients) services , with an outlook to develop Tier 4 (inpatient)
As lead psychologist the candidate would be expected to work closely and collaboratively with the lead psychologist and report directly to the Medical Director . He/she would be expected to work 10 sessions a week , including two evenings and one weekend day. These sessions would be broadly divided up as follows:
Cases to be treated:
Mood difficulties, Anxiety disorders, Attachment Issues, Self Esteem difficulties, Phobias, OCD, Transitional adjustment difficulties, Trauma, Loss & Bereavement, Emotional difficulties related to school bullying, Mild to moderate behavioural difficulties, Social skills deficits, Mild to moderate self-harm, School refusal, Anger management, PTSD, Drug & alcohol, Nocturnal Enuresis, Autism / Aspergers, ADHD, Eating disorders, Severe self-harm and suicidal risk, Psychosis, Conduct disorder, Severe depression, Bipolar affective disorder, Sleeping, feeding and behavioural difficulties in under 5 years that result in severe disruption of family life and development, Genetic syndromes, Psychosomatic conditions
All treatment will be evidenced based according to the NICE guidelines and will include:
Medication prescribing & monitoring, Applied Behavioural Analaysis, Psychological Intervention, Family Therapy, Speech and Language Assessment and Treatment, Occupational Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Family therapy and family-based interventions, Mindfulness, Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), Behavioural Therapy
