The nursery supervisor works under the direction of the nursery director and deputizes for her as and when required. She is the designated inclusion officer. She supports the aims and objectives of the nursery and assists the nursery director in the organization of a high-quality establishment providing high standards of care and early learning. She supports the wider nursery team to provide an enabling environment and directs and supports staff as agreed by the nursery director.
Reports to: Managing Director and Nursery Director ('ND')
Supervises: Teachers, Classroom Assistants, Nurse and Nannies, Cleaners, Security Guard, Administrator
Interfaces with: All Staff, Pupils, Parents, Community and Ministry Officials
Key Duties:
1. As a leader, ensures that the day to day operation of the nursery is efficient
2. Is accountable for understanding and implementing the nursery's mission statement
3. Assists ND in compliance with all relevant local laws and regulations
4. To support the effective interview and selection process as required
5. Assists with nursery tours
6. Assists the ND in enabling the smooth operation and administrative leadership of the nursery
7. Supports all staff with all aspects of inclusive practice
8. Is a role model for inclusive practice and acts on behalf of the child in all aspects of their health, safety, welfare and learning and development
9. Liaises with external agencies to support children's additional needs
10. Ensures cultural and religious competency within the nursery community
11. Works alongside the Nursery Director to ensure staff's knowledge and understanding of inclusive practice
12. Assists with the creation of and develops a strong team within the nursery
13. Assists with orientation of staff and conducts evaluations, providing ongoing observations and feedback
14. To assist with overseeing the program of admissions of new pupils to the school
15. Takes joint responsibility for the smooth running of auxiliary programs such as food, health, safety and security
16. To deputize for the nursery director in her absence
17. Organizes and participates in regular team meetings, keeping a written record of all meetings
18. Oversees and supervises extra curricular activities/extended program
19. Assists with staff development and training
20. To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined from time to time by the CEO or ND
