Function: The purpose of the Operations Coordinator is to provide operational services to facilitate the equipment control, billing and customer service functions on a timely, accurate and effective basis for equipment and customers in a designated geographical region.

Duties and Responsibilities:

This is an internal operational and administrative job managing container stocks, follow up of repairs, organizing surveys, bookings and redeliveries of containers.

Provide professional, responsive customer service to local and international customer requests for equipment or information.

Process customer requests for pick up or drop off of equipment in accordance with operational procedures and business terms.

Coordinate equipment control and damage approval activities with storage and repair depot vendors in accordance with technical and operational procedures.

Follow up with customers and depots to ensure equipment is moving through the maintenance and repair cycle on a timely basis.

Update container damage status in central computer system. Resolve discrepancies between EDI activity sent electronically by depot vendors and the system status.

Work with local barge and trucking companies to arrange possible empty transports from/to depots and terminals.

Review vendor invoices and purchase orders for depot, survey and drayage expenses.

Liaise with regional offices and agents and other departments to provide internal customer service and coordinate activities.

Provide additional operational services as requested.

Follow up on accounts receivable and monitor credit controls.

Process sale inquiries + releases to both customers and depots for designated region.

Negotiate sale transactions in accordance with management guidelines.

Utilize effective communication and sales techniques including frequent phone calls and emails to increase brand recognition and customers for CAI.

Preferred Qualifications

3 or more years office experience in an administrative or operational capacity

Excellent attention to details skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong customer service skills

Proficient in Word and Excel

Mac experience is a plus

Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects while maintaining quality of performance is a must

Ability to work collaboratively in a team atmosphere as well as individually

Leasing or shipping industry experience preferred

Must be fluent in Dutch and highly proficient in English and French language
