Consultant Physician - Neonatology Managerial/Administrative Responsibilities Supports, implements, and follows all hospital, departmental, and divisional initiatives, policies, and procedures.Helps lead and implement the organization’s performance management system, including peer review, productivity, and utilization review processes.Participates in the organization’s performance management system.Assists with scheduling and supports the Division Chief in ensuring adequate medical coverage within the Division at all times.Attends Divisional meetings as required.Assists the Division Chief in recruiting new medical staff when appropriate.Assumes other administrative or clinical duties as requested by the Division Chief.Technical/Clinical Responsibilities The Consultant Physician’s clinical duties include, but are not limited to: Overseeing the clinical activities of junior medical staff and assuming responsibility for their care.Complying with all hospital policies regarding admissions, consultations, patient care, surgical procedures, discharge protocols, outpatient, and follow-up practices.Practicing appropriate utilization of organizational resources.Leading ward rounds and regularly reassessing inpatients and outpatients in line with best practices.Documenting all relevant clinical information clearly and promptly.Reviewing investigation results and modifying treatment as necessary.Liaising with other medical specialties and support services for additional input.Participating in multidisciplinary meetings to plan effective, safe, and holistic patient care.Preparing patients for procedures, including obtaining informed consent.Accepting clinically appropriate referrals from various sources, including Emergency Department, primary care, and other hospitals.Participating in out-of-hours (on-call) coverage on a rotational basis.Communicating clinical information to patients and their families in a timely manner, with patient consent.Maintaining good working relationships with staff and promoting teamwork.Performing other clinical responsibilities as assigned.Quality & Safety Leading quality improvement initiatives within the Department.Encouraging regular audits and using audit results to improve clinical practice.Supporting incident reporting, investigation, and response.Education and Research Promoting a culture of learning, development, and continuous improvement.Supervising and guiding junior medical staff.Facilitating essential training relevant to the specialty.Showing commitment to Continuing Medical Education (CME).Participating in clinical research and publications.Keeping abreast of current literature, trends, and technologies in neonatology. #J-18808-Ljbffr
