Specific ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Corporate Communications Specialist position for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache's Corporate Communications and Public Affairs team based in the company's Cairo, Egypt office. This role reports to the Manager, Internal Communications, in Houston, and will be responsible for the following:Serve as a key member of the Corporate Communications and Public Affairs team assisting in the development of key messages, operating area-specific messages and communications strategy focused primarily for internal audiences and to some extent general and industry media.Advise the country manager and operating area leadership on employee messaging.Liaise with Apache joint-venture company Khalda Petroleum Company on issues related to internal communications and message consistency and coordination.Lead local employee communication by assisting country manager and local leadership with engagement strategy to include regular leadership communications, town halls and feedback opportunities, increasing internal networking opportunities for employees.Maintain awareness of operational activities through relationships, meeting attendance, field office and site visits.Coordinate with global members of the Corporate Communications team to standardize communication efforts and share best practices across the globe.Write and edit a wide variety of communications with excellence, creativity and accuracy. Fact-checking and proofreading prior to sending for approval.Publish via consolidated editorial calendar for steady stream of global and local communications.Contribute and support other communication efforts for Apache Egypt, such as community partnerships, tradeshows, and other industry events.Act as point person and liaison for the operating area's representation in the Apache Communications Leadership Council.Lead Local live local events in Microsoft Teams or support the team on the backend of global Teams meetings.Coordinate local photography or videography for campaign-based communications. Qualifications & ExperienceOil and gas or other energy industry experience preferred, including experience communicating on upstream or midstream operations or with industry-related news organizations.6+ years of professional communications experience in agency, consulting, or corporate setting.Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders to obtain a thorough understanding of activities in the operating area.Demonstrated ability to produce quality work products through adherence to internal communications guidelines, approval processes, fact-checking and proofreading.Requires fluency in both English and Arabic.Experience using software including the suite of Microsoft TEAMS, Wrike, Outlook, and PolitieMail is beneficial.
