Ensure full engagement in the achievement of the Business Plan Deployment targets in safety, people, quality, responsiveness, cost, and environment, according to a standardized process using GMS tools.- Ensure full compliance with GM safety and environmental standards, conduct regular tour and assessments.- Review performance score card, participate in the daily operations meetings to track key business results, manage changes and act on deviations with the suitable problem-solving tools.- Collect, plot, and analyze material flow data from supplier to production line to capture improvement opportunities- Create development plan for material flow prioritizing opportunities according to safety risk reduction and cost optimization.- Report monthly LMS (Lean Material Strategy) score card and drive operations team (material handling, manufacturing engineering & production) for continuous improvement through the LMS committee- Reflect material flow information and LMS measurable on PFEP (Plan for Every Part).- Support in new packaging review and buy-off process, along with continuously drive for packaging improvement initiatives and/or parts distribution strategy that will lead to waste elimination, enhanced utilization, increased density, and improved overall LMS scores that leads to cost reduction.- Lead the material handling team in cross functional Kaizen events aiming for total enterprise cost reduction.- Develop material flow diagram from receiving to production line including operators and material handling equipment movements.- Work with Industrial Engineering team on Value Stream Mapping (VSM) development.- Conduct time studies for all material handling operational activities through Global Material Optimization System (GMOS), calculate and report required to run head counts.- Perform regular layered audits and act on deviation.- Assess tooling requirements and coordinate non-portfolio projects implementation with facility team.- Plan and execute IT portfolio projects implementation within the supply chain operations.- Conduct effective problem-solving affecting employees' safety and part quality related to packaging.- Ensure all packaging information are communicated and regularly maintained on Plan for Every Part (PFEP).- Represent the material handling team and coordinate material launch activities as per the Global Launch Process (GLP).- Represent the function in various activities or committees as required.**Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Competencies**- Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or any related filed- Lean-six sigma and/or PMP is a plus- Minimum of two years experience in the industrial field, preferred in material handling, supply chain operations/planning, warehousing, production, industrial or manufacturing engineering- Good ability in problem solving and project management techniques- Good command of CAD software (inventor, solid works and/or AutoCAD) are preferred- Required competencies: Lean thinking, timely decision making, driving for results, and managing through systems**About GM**Our vision is a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions and Zero Congestion and we embrace the responsibility to lead the change that will make our world better, safer and more equitable for all.**Why Join Us**We aspire to be the most inclusive company in the world.
