Legal Counsel (PQE) (IT Industry) - IC

Regional IT consultancy and service solutions provider Candidates with more experience will be considered as Legal Counsel.

Job Description

1. Reviewing sales contracts, tenders, subcontracts, vendor agreements (for hardware, software and services) and related documents in compliance with the company policies, proposing amendments and highlighting, advising on and proposing solutions in relation to contractual issues, legal and commercial risks to the business proposal teams.
2. Negotiating with counterparties as required by the business proposal teams.
3. Preparing applications for approvals for deviations from company policies.
4. Conducting legal training for business and project staff, including the preparation of training materials.
5. Rendering legal advice in support of corporate functions.
6. Supporting periodic audit exercise on the company and the legal department.
7. Assisting in company secretariat functions.
8. Reviewing policies and processes of the legal function, collating and analysing data, preparing reports and policy papers for the general improvement of the legal function and processes.
9. All necessary reporting and liaison with parent companies regarding legal matters, including periodic litigation reporting.
10. Any other function as assigned from time to time.

Job Requirements

1. A good bachelor's or master's degree in law from Hong Kong or UK.
2. Called to the Bar in a major jurisdiction.
3. 5-8 years PQE with several years in private practice in a good law firm. Experience could be in corporate work, litigation or a mix of both. In-house experience in an IT environment will be an advantage; candidates without this experience but who are keen to work in an IT environment may also apply.
4. Possess strong linguistic ability and good people management skills.
5. Strong work ethic, able to work in a focused manner and within tight timelines.
