Yeshivah - Beth Rivkah Colleges is an Independent School based in St Kilda East in Melbourne, and is comprised of two Primary and two Secondary Schools, an Early Learning Centre, and a Creche. We are dedicated to providing an exceptional education to all Jewish children in a welcoming and safe environment, enabling them to achieve personal excellence and fulfilment. Effective ASAP, we are seeking a passionate Secondary Mathematics Teacher for the Girls Secondary across years 7-10 to work in a part-time capacity (approximately .3 fraction), and your payment will be pro-rated to this effect.

Your specific duties and responsibilities are:

  • Plan and implement a range of teaching programs or courses of study.
  • Provide a child-safe environment in accordance with the child safe standards.
  • Teach an area of the curriculum or a general curriculum to a Girls Secondary year level.
  • Monitor, evaluate and report student progress in key learning areas.
  • Implement strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes.
  • Maintain records of class attendance and recording student progress.
  • Implement effective student management consistent with the school’s strategic plan.

Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Attending staff, faculty and pastoral care meetings, yard duties, covers, detention roster, parent-teacher interviews, and other responsibilities as required in the performance of your role.
  • Supervising a range of student activities including support and welfare programs.
  • Contributing to a range of co-curricular programs.
  • Promote the safety and wellbeing of children and young people to whom we provide services.
  • Ensure that your interactions with children and young people are positive and safe.
  • Provide adequate care and supervision of children and young people in your charge.
  • Act as a positive role model for children and young people.
  • Report any suspicions, concerns, allegations or disclosures of alleged abuse to management.
  • Maintain valid working with children documentation and VIT registration.
