Paterson & Cooke Australia is seeking an experienced Intermediate Draftsperson to join our leading engineering consulting firm in WA to obtain excellent industry exposure and specialist experience. This opportunity also comes paired with an attractive salary package and flexible work arrangements. The successful candidate will be part of our drawing office's team and will be involved in a multitude of engineering projects for slurry and water pipeline transportation systems, backfill plants and slurry dewatering.
Main Duties:
- Production of a variety of drawings/MTO/lists as well as 2D and 3D models across the following disciplines: mechanical, process, piping, civil, and structural, under limited supervision from their supervisors.
- Development of drawings from engineers' sketches with limited input.
- Undertake and supervise document control activities.
- Undertake drawing office related PM tasks on projects.
- Adhere to P&C + client policies, standards and guidelines.
- Perform clash detection of design models against as-built models, or other consultants’/clients’ design models.
- Training of more junior team members.
- Ensure all activities performed at work are carried out in compliance with common Workplace/Occupational Health & Safety protocols, including Company policies, and all relevant occupational health and safety laws and regulations.
Minimum Requirements & Competencies
- Work Authorisation: Australia (Required)
- Formal training and/or qualification in Drafting, consistent with a Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting (or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years experience working with CAD software.
- 2+ Years work experience in mechanical/pipeline drafting (including 2D and 3D modelling for slurry, water, waste, mineral processing and/or oil & gas).
- Experience working with one or more of the following packages: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Plant 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads, OpenPlant.
- Prior work experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Intermediate to Sound computer literacy skills, including with MS Office package.
- Sound to Strong skills in one or more CAD software packages covering the entire workflow from setup and 2D/3D modelling to drawing/model production.
- Sound attention to detail/organisational skills.
- Intermediate to Sound supervision/delegation skills.
- Intermediate to Sound customer service acumen.
